Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement.
  3. Remove the park brake cable from the rear brake backing plate. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side or Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side.
  4. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement.
  5. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 2136349  Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear brake backing plate bolts (1).

  8. Object Number: 2136350  Size: SH
  9. Remove the rear brake backing plate (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2136350  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear brake backing plate (1).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2136349  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear brake backing plate bolts (1) and tighten to 135 N·m (100 lb ft).
  4. Install the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement.
  5. Install the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement.
  6. Install the park brake cable to the rear brake backing plate. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side or Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side.
  7. Install the rear wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement.
