Discharge Hose Replacement LH8

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  4. Remove retainers from fan shroud.
  5. Remove the grill assembly. Refer to Grille Replacement

A/C Compressor and Condenser - Hose Assembly Nut

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.

Tip
Use long extension to access nut through grille.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

A/C Compressor and Condenser - Hose Assembly Bolt

Procedure

Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.

Tighten
28 N·m (21 lb ft)

Tube Assembly - A/C Condenser and A/C Evaporator

Discharge Hose Replacement LLV, LLR

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1222572  Size: SH
  4. Remove the discharge hose mounting bolt (8) from the A/C compressor.
  5. Remove the discharge hose (4) from the A/C compressor.
  6. Remove the discharge hose bolt from the condenser.
  7. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser.
  8. Remove the discharge hose from the vehicle.
  9. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the discharge hose to the condenser using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the discharge hose bolt to the condenser. Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  4. Object Number: 1222572  Size: SH
  5. Install the discharge hose (4) to the A/C compressor using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  6. Install the discharge hose mounting bolt (8) to the A/C compressor. Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.
  8. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  9. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
