Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada
Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Release the clip that
retains the lock rod to the handle.
- Remove the lock rod from the handle.
- Remove the nut that retains the handle and bracket to the door.
- Remove the bracket from the handle.
- Remove the handle from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the handle to
the door.
- Install the bracket to the handle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut
that retains the handle to the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Install the lock rod to the handle.
- Install the clip that retains the lock rod to the handle.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

.
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to

- Remove the water deflector. Refer to

- Release the clip (1) retaining the lock rod (2) to the outside door handle.
- Remove the lock rod (2) from the outside door handle.
- Remove the nuts retaining the outside door handle to the door.
- Remove the outside door handle from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outside door handle to the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the lock rod (2) to the outside door handle.
- Install the clip (1) retaining the lock rod (2) to the outside door handle.

- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
