Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL
Removal Procedure
- Remove
the cargo shelf.
- Tumble the third row seats to the cargo position.
- Remove the left body side window rear garnish molding. Refer to
Body Side Window Rear Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the left body side window forward garnish molding. Refer to
Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the lift gate sill plate. Refer to
Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the left rear door sill panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the lower seat belt anchor bolt.
- Release the five screws that retain the
rear quarter trim panel to the body.
- Remove the rear quarter trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the trim panel to the vehicle.
- Position the seat belt over the top of the trim panel, ensuring that
the buckle is not behind the trim panel.
- Index the locating tabs on the trim panel to the holes in the body.
- Connect the wiring harness connector to the auxiliary power outlet.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the five screws that the retain the rear quarter trim panel to the
body.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Install the seat belt lower anchor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Install the left rear door sill panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement

- Install the lift gate sill plate. Refer to
Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Install the left body side window forward garnish molding. Refer to
Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Install the left body side window rear garnish molding. Refer to
Body Side Window Rear Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Return the third row seats to the upright position.
- Install the cargo shelf.
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side TrailBlazer, Envoy, Rainier
Removal Procedure
- Remove the cargo shade/cover.
- Remove the left body side upper trim panel. Refer to
Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement

- Remove the liftgate sill plate. Refer to
Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the left rear door sill panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the lower seat belt anchor bolt.
- Release the clips that retain the trim panel to the body.
- Remove the trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the trim panel to the vehicle.
- Position the seat belt over the top of the trim panel, ensuring that the buckle is not behind the trim panel.
- Index the locating tabs on the trim panel to the holes in the body.
- Seat the clips the retain the trim panel to the body.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat belt lower anchor.
Tighten
Tighten the anchor bolt to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Install the left rear door sill panel. Refer to

- Install the liftgate sill plate. Refer to
Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement
.
- Install the left body side upper trim panel. Refer to
Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
