The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment of an Intermittent Dead Battery condition. This may be caused by voltage being present on the ignition 0 circuit when the key is removed from the ignition. When working correctly, ignition 0 will only have voltage in ACC/RUN/START
positions.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This can be identified by watching the PRNDL display and the battery light on the IPC. Using the tip of key in the ignition cylinder, manipulate the ignition switch by rotating forward and rearward to see if the PRNDL and/or battery light illuminate on
the IPC. If either of these lights illuminate, replace the ignition switch.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
