When a new module is installed in one of the above vehicles, the module must be programmed/configured to the vehicle. Ensure that the proper procedures are followed or error messages will be observed.

When using the SPS programming procedure, the Techline terminal may display a message about calling Techline. This occurs when the replacement module part number is different from the part number of the module removed from the vehicle.

When the message to call Techline is displayed, you will need to call your Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC), NOT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TAC), for a Vehicle Configuration Index (VCI) number.

When you have a VCI number, you may proceed with programming the module for the vehicle.

When the Calibration Selection screen is displayed on the computer terminal screen, a series of folder tabs are shown near the top of the screen. Each of these tabs must have a check mark in them. The tab(s) that do not have a check mark require your attention. You need to select the tab and determine the correct option configuration for the vehicle you are working with. If all of the tabs do not have a check mark, an error message will be displayed when Next is clicked with the mouse.

When all tabs have been selected, the Techline terminal will load the calibration into the Tech 2®. When complete, the Tech 2® then needs to be connected to the Vehicle DLC connector and the SPS programing event completed.

After completion of the download, use the Tech 2® and perform a module setup.

Clear the codes from all modules.

Attempt to start the vehicle. If the vehicle starter will not engage, a vehicle theft deterrent reprogram will have to be completed.

Important: For all vehicles other than those exported to Europe, use Document ID #746805. For those vehicles exported by the General Motors distribution system to Europe, use Document ID #818238.

Complete the appropriate Theft Deterrent relearn procedure. Start the Vehicle.
