Assist Step Running Boards (BVE) Skid Pad Warping

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Some customers may comment that the assist step skid pad is warped.

A new assist step skid pad has been released for service to correct this condition. Replace the assist step skid pads using the procedure and part numbers listed below.

1. Remove the assist step skid pad using a door trim panel tool.
2. Install the new assist step skid pad. Ensure all fasteners are fully seated.
3. Repeat the above steps for the opposite side.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
