Lace Gasket Short

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Part listed in : 02-08-66-004 is about six (6) inches too short.

Part number 15170981 is about six inches too short and will not install properly using instructions in the TSB. The TSB and length shoud be corrected soon. Instead, find the middle point on the lace and the top center of the license plate pocket to find the correct centering point. Install starting in the center. The lace should extend equally around both sides of plate pocket and will not reach the handle area. The original design lace was longer and the technician was to cut off the extra.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
