Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-4.2 L.
- Remove the bracket bolt securing the accumulator to the coolant recovery reservior (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C pressure switch and reposition accumulator.
- Remove the coolant hoses from the coolant recovery reservior and plug the hoses and the coolant recovery reservior outlets with suitable plugs (2).
- Remove the nut and bolt securing the coolant recovery reservior.
- Remove the coolant recovery reservior.
Installation Procedure
- Install the coolant recovery reservior.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining bolt to the front wheel house panel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Secure the coolant recovery reservior to the wheel house panel with the nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Install the coolant hose to the coolant recovery reservior (2).
- Install the accumulator to the coolant recovery reservior and connect the electrical connector to the A/C low pressure switch..
- Secure the accumulator with the bracket and the bolt (1).
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-4.2 L.
