Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 730795  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  2. Remove the fuel fill pipe housing.

  3. Object Number: 730799  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket nut (2).
  5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  6. Object Number: 730802  Size: SH
  7. Remove the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt (3).

  8. Object Number: 730806  Size: SH
  9. Loosen the fuel hose clamp (1).
  10. Separate the fuel hose (2) from the tank.
  11. Cap the open end of the fuel tank.
  12. Remove the push pin fastener (5).
  13. Remove the fuel filler pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel filler pipe to the vehicle.
  2. Install the push pin fastener (5).
  3. Uncap the fuel tank.
  4. Install the fuel hose (2) to the tank.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  8. Install the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt (3).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Lower the vehicle.

  11. Object Number: 730799  Size: SH
  12. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket nut (2).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Install the fuel fill pipe housing.
  15. Install the fuel fill cap.
