Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 735924  Size: SH
  3. Remove the side window defroster duct (3) retaining screw (4).
  4. Remove the passenger side window defroster duct.

  5. Object Number: 735890  Size: SH
  6. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the driver side window defroster duct (4).
  7. Remove the driver side window defroster duct.

  8. Object Number: 735928  Size: SH
  9. Release retaining clips (2) from the defroster duct (1).
  10. Remove the defroster duct (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 735928  Size: SH
  1. Install the defroster duct.
  2. Insert defroster duct into retaining slots.

  3. Object Number: 735890  Size: SH
  4. Install the driver side window defroster duct.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the driver side window defroster duct (4).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the passenger side window defroster duct.
  9. Install the passenger side window defroster duct (3) retaining screw (4).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  11. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
