J 44402 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Wrench

1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
2. Remove the fuel feed and return lines from the sender assembly. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
3. Using J 44402 , remove the fuel sender lock ring.

Caution: Refer to Fuel Storage Caution in the Preface section.

4. Remove the fuel sender assembly and seal. Discard the seal.
5. Clean the fuel sender sealing surfaces.

Important: NEVER reuse the old seal or a fuel leak may occur, ALWAYS use a NEW seal.

1. Install a NEW seal onto the fuel tank.

Important: The fuel pump strainer must be in a horizontal position when the fuel sender is installed in the tank. When installing the fuel sender assembly, assure that the fuel pump strainer does not block full travel of the float arm.

2. Install the fuel sender assembly.
3. Using J 44402 , install the fuel sender lock ring .
4. Install the fuel feed and return lines to the sender assembly. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
5. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
