Verify that the hazard lamps are always on.

Do the hazard lamps operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the turn/hazard flasher.
  2. Ensure that the hazard lamp switch is in the OFF position.
  3. Test for a ground signal at the hazard switch signal circuit input terminal of the hazard/turn flasher connector. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is a ground signal present?

Test the multifunction turn signal switch hazard switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the hazard/turn flasher. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction turn signal switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the hazard/turn flasher. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .
