Removal Procedure
- Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Remove the bolts retaining
the wiper transmission assembly to the vehicle.
- Carefully push the wiper transmission assembly rearward to disengage
the wiper motor from the slot in the plenum.
- Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
- Remove the wiper transmission assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the wiper transmission
assembly to the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
- Insert the wiper motor post into the slot in the plenum, push
the transmission assembly forward to seat the post.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts retaining the wiper transmission assembly to the
vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper transmission assembly bolts to 8 N·m
(71 lb in).
- Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
