Removal Procedure
- Remove the 2 screws that retain the insulator panel to the instrument panel (I/P).
- Partially remove the insulator panel.
- Remove the electrical connector retaining clip from the back side of the insulator panel, if equipped.
- Remove the insulator panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the insulator panel to the vehicle, positioning the insulator panel to the I/P.
- Install the electrical connector retaining clip to the back side of the insulator panel, if equipped.
- Insert the insulator panel retaining tab into the cowl slot.
- Seat the insulator panel retaining clip to the I/P substrate.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 2 insulator panel retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
