Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate latch assembly from the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
  2. Place the latch assembly on a clean, prepared surface.

  3. Object Number: 739852  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 screws (2) that retain the lock actuator (1) to the latch assembly.

  5. Object Number: 747835  Size: SH
  6. Simultaneously lift up on and rotate the actuator away from the latch in order to disengage the rubber bumper (1) from the latch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 747835  Size: SH
  1. Install the rubber bumper (1) to the latch.
  2. Rotate the actuator toward the latch in order to fully engage the rubber bumper into the latch.
  3. Important: Ensure that the first tooth of the gear on the actuator and the first tooth of the gear on the latch align and interlock properly.

  4. Install the actuator to the top of the latch.

  5. Object Number: 739852  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the 2 screws (2) that retain the lock actuator (1) to the latch assembly.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 0.75 N·m (6 lb in).

  8. Install the latch assembly to the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
