Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the memory/heated switch backlighting is inoperative.

Does the memory/heated switch backlighting operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Are any other dimmable interior backlighting lamps inoperative?

Go to Interior Backlighting Inoperative

Go to Step 4

  1. Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.
  2. Adjust the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch to the full intensity position.
  3. Test for an open, high resistance, or short to voltage in the memory/heated seat switch illumination control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct a condition?

Go to Step 10

Use a test lamp connected to B+ to backprobe the memory/heated seat switch illumination control circuit terminal at the driver door module (DDM) connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the DDM. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the memory/heated seat switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Replace the DDM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the memory/heated seat switch. Refer to Driver Seat Adjuster Memory Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
