J 21426 Rear Extension Seal Installer

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to One-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement or to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.



3. Remove the rear extension oil seal.

1. Install the new seal using J 21426 .
2. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to One-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement or to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement .
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity .

Use Dexron® III Automatic Transmission Fluid.
