Is the fuse open?

Does the scan tool display any current DTCs?

Use the scan tool in order to read the RAP timer.

Does the RAP timer count down?

Backprobe from the body control module (BCM) connector C1 terminal A7 to ground.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  2. Test for voltage at the RAP relay connector terminal 85.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair an open in CKT 542 (RED).

Is the repair complete?

Test the continuity of CKT 755 (BLK).

Is continuity present?

Locate and repair an open in CKT 755 (BLK).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the RAP relay.

Is the repair complete?

Backprobe a fused jumper from the BCM connector terminal A7 to ground.

Does the RAP operate?

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 542 (RED).
