Rear Bumper Extension Replacement Pickup

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 3854  Size: SH
  1. Remove the nuts from the rear bumper extension brace.
  2. Remove the screws that retain the rear bumper extension to the rear wheel panel.
  3. Remove the nuts that retain the rear bumper extension to the body.
  4. Remove the rear bumper extension from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 3854  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear bumper extension to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts that retain the rear bumper extension to the body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear bumper extension to the body nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  5. Install the screws that retain the rear bumper extension to the rear wheel panel.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the rear bumper extension to the rear wheel panel screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Install the nuts to the rear bumper extension brace.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear bumper extension brace nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

Rear Bumper Extension Replacement Utility

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the screws from the wheel opening trim ring.
  2. Remove the bolt that retains the brace to the extension.
  3. Remove the nuts that retain the extension to the rear quarter panels.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 308207  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   2. Tighten
    Tighten the extension to the rear quarter panels nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  3. Install the bolt that retains the brace to the extension.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brace to the extension bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the screws to the wheel opening trim ring.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel opening trim ring screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
