Did you perform the Power Seats System Check?

  1. Ensure that the seat lateral motor electrical connector is connected.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), backprobe the seat lateral motor connector terminal A to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the FORWARD position.

Is voltage present?

  1. Ensure that the seat lateral motor electrical connector remains disconnected.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the seat lateral motor connector terminal B to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REARWARD position.

Is voltage present?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Replace the seat lateral motor.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Access the power seat adjuster switch.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the C1 terminal E to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the FORWARD position.

Is voltage present?

  1. Access the power seat adjuster switch.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the C1 terminal D to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REARWARD position.

Is voltage present?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 285 (LH) or CKT 296 (RH) between the power seat adjuster switch and the seat lateral motor.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 284 (LH) or CKT 290 (RH) between the power seat adjuster switch and the seat lateral motor.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the power seat adjuster switch.
