Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the outer seat adjuster trim cover, E-Z entry seat only. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the recliner handle.
  3. Remove the recliner cover.
  4. Remove the inertia latch from the recliner assembly.
  5. Remove the recliner assembly bolts.
  6. Disconnect the cable from the seat adjuster, E-Z entry seat only.

  7. Remove the recliner assembly from the seat.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 298928 Size: SH
  1. Install the recliner assembly to the seat.
  2. Connect the cable to the seat adjuster.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the recliner assembly to the seat frame bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the recliner assembly to the seat frame bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the inertia latch.
  5. Install the recliner trim cover to the seat.
  6. Install the recliner handle.
  7. Install the outer seat adjuster trim cover, E-Z entry seat only.
