Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Extended Cab Pickup

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303376  Size: SH
  1. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  3. Remove the passenger assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  4. Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  5. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Remove the side door upper latch cover (if equipped).

  8. Remove the left and right front seat upper seat belt anchor bolts.

  9. Object Number: 379261  Size: SH
  10. Pull the body side trim panels loose at the roof line.
  11. Place the seats in the full rearward and reclined position.
  12. Remove the floor mounted gearshift lever (if equipped). Refer to Shift Lever Replacement or Shift Lever Replacement in Manual Transmission.
  13. Remove the full length floor mounted console (if equipped). Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  14. Use the following steps in order to remove the headliner from the vehicle:
  15. 12.1. Grasp the headliner at the front.
    12.2. Use a downward motion in order to disengage the hook and the loop fasteners at the rear.
    12.3. Slide the headliner foreword, past the body side trim panels, rotate it 90 degrees and remove the headliner from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the headliner to the vehicle. Pierce new headliners in order to accommodate actual vehicle accessories.
  2. Secure the body side trim panels at the roof line.
  3. Install the the full lenght floor mounted console (if equipped). Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  4. Install the the floor mounted gearshift lever (if equipped). Refer to Refer to Shift Lever Replacement or Shift Lever Replacement in Manual Transmission.
  5. Restore the seats to their original positions.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the left and right front seat upper seat belt anchor bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  9. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  10. Install the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  11. Install the rear side door upper latch cover (if equipped).
  12. Install the passenger assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  13. Install the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  14. Install the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Pickup

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  3. Remove the passenger assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  4. Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  5. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Pull the body side trim panels loose at the roof line.
  7. Use the following steps in order to remove the headliner from the vehicle:
  8. 7.1. Grasp the headliner at the front.
    7.2. Use a downward motion in order to disengage the hook and the loop fasteners at the rear.
    7.3. Slide the headliner foreword, past the body side trim panels.

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Utility

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 392798  Size: SH
  1. Remove the sunroof console, if equipped. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the sunroof opening trim (if equipped) by grasping it at the edge and pulling it away from the headliner.
  4. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  5. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  6. Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  7. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  8. Remove the body lock pillar trim panels (four-door models only). Refer to Side Door Lock Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .

  10. Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolts (two-door models only).

  11. Object Number: 392833  Size: SH
  12. Remove the inside air temperature sensor grille.
  13. Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement .
  14. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  15. Remove the headliner from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the headliner to the vehicle. New headliners must be pierced in order to accommodate actual vehicle accessories.
  2. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  3. Install the upper body side panel trim. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the inside air temperature sensor grille.

  8. Install the body lock pillar trim panels (four-door models only). Refer to Side Door Lock Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  9. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  10. Install the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  11. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  12. Install the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  13. Install the sunroof opening trim (if equipped) by carefully pressing it into place.
  14. Install the dome lamp (if equipped). Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  15. Install the overhead or sunroof console (if equipped). Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
