Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Extended Cab Pickup
Removal Procedure
- Remove the dome lamp.

- Remove the coat hooks. Refer to
Coat Hook Replacement
.
- Remove the passenger assist handle. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to
Sunshade Replacement
.
- Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the side door upper latch cover (if equipped).
- Remove the left and right
front seat upper seat belt anchor bolts.
- Pull the body side trim
panels loose at the roof line.
- Place the seats in the full rearward and reclined position.
- Remove the floor mounted gearshift lever (if equipped). Refer
to
Shift Lever Replacement
or
Shift Lever Replacement
in Manual Transmission.
- Remove the full length floor mounted console (if equipped). Refer
to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Use the following steps in order to remove the headliner from
the vehicle:
12.1. | Grasp the headliner at the front. |
12.2. | Use a downward motion in order to disengage the hook and the loop
fasteners at the rear. |
12.3. | Slide the headliner foreword, past the body side trim panels,
rotate it 90 degrees and remove the headliner from the vehicle. |
Installation Procedure
- Install the headliner
to the vehicle. Pierce new headliners in order to accommodate actual vehicle
accessories.
- Secure the body side trim panels at the roof line.
- Install the the full lenght floor mounted console (if equipped).
Refer to

- Install the the floor mounted gearshift lever (if equipped). Refer
to Refer to
Shift Lever Replacement
or
Shift Lever Replacement
in Manual Transmission.
- Restore the seats to their original positions.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the left
and right front seat upper seat belt anchor bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Install the windshield
garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Install the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to
Sunshade Replacement
.
- Install the rear side door upper latch cover (if equipped).
- Install the passenger assist handle. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Install the coat hooks. Refer to
Coat Hook Replacement
.
- Install the dome lamp. Refer to
Dome Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Pickup
Removal Procedure
- Remove the dome lamp.

- Use the following steps in order to remove the headliner from
the vehicle:
7.1. | Grasp the headliner at the front. |

7.3. | Slide the headliner foreword, past the body side trim panels. |

- Install the headliner

Removal Procedure
- Remove the sunroof console,
if equipped. Refer to

in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the dome lamp. Refer to

in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the sunroof opening trim (if equipped) by grasping it at
the edge and pulling it away from the headliner.
- Remove the coat hooks. Refer to
Coat Hook Replacement
.
- Remove the assist handles. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to
Sunshade Replacement
.
- Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the body lock pillar trim panels (four-door models only).

- Remove the upper seat
belt anchor bolts (two-door models only).
- Remove the inside air
temperature sensor grille.
- Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to
Body Side Trim Panel Replacement

- Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to
Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the headliner from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the headliner
to the vehicle. New headliners must be pierced in order to accommodate actual
vehicle accessories.
- Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to

- Install the upper body side panel trim. Refer to
Body Side Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the inside air temperature sensor grille.
