This bulletin is being issued to revise the Wiper Inoperative-Rear diagnostic in the Wipers/Washer Systems sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.
The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
If any of the liftgate or liftglass switch fails ajar the rear wiper will not operate.
This step determines if the liftgate control module is receiving the correct switch position message from the body control module.
This step determines if the liftgate control module is attempting to operate rear wiper motor in the requested operating mode.
This step tests the resistance through the rear wiper switch. The measured resistance will be highest in the OFF position and reduce as the switch is turned from positions 1 through 3.
