It is very important that the correct RTV be used on the 4.2L engine. The correct RTV to be used when re-sealing the front cover, rear cover or engine oil pan is shown below.
Using the wrong RTV may lead to leaks. RTV should be applied using instructions provided in the applicable Service Information.
