Subject: | Service VME -- Correct Roof Rack Crossbow Position |
Models: | SERVICE VME |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Tuesday, April 30, 2002
"This message applies to 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, except TrailBlazer EXT, GMC Envoy, except Envoy XL, and Oldsmobile Bravada. Since September 1, 2001 these vehicles have been built with the roof rack crossbows reversed. This is being done intentionally to reduce wind noise caused by the roof rack. Inspections of the crossbows may reveal arrows and the word front on the ends of the crossbows pointing to the rear of the vehicle. This is the way they should be. The arrows were removed from the crossbows in production during February 2002. Do not install the crossbows with the arrows pointing forward unless installing an accessory that attaches to the crossbows and requires the crossbows to be installed that way. This is Al Ferry, Brand Quality Manager."
