DIESEL FUEL INJECTION NOZZLE NOZZLE DIFFERENCE 1982 TO 1983

MODELS: 1982 & 1983 MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 6.2L V-8 DIESEL ENGINES (RPO LM6 L.D. EMISSiON AND RPO LL4 H.D. EMISSIONS)

Because of design changes between 1982 and 1983 fuel injection nozzles used on subject engines, care must be taken when replacement of these nozzles becomes necessary.

The nozzle released for 1983 is similar in appearance to the 1982 nozzle except for a different thread pitch size for C-K-P Truck. Also, a new shorter nozzle is released for the G-Van only. Figure No. 1 illustrates the differences as well as model usage.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
