EASTON LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SCREW ADHESIVE-REPAIR

MODELS: 1982 "C-K" 15 AND "G" 15-25 LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS

Whenever service is performed on a 1982 8-1/2" Eaton locking differential and the differential pinion shaft lock screw is removed, itis essential that one of the following procedures be followed.

Discard screw that was removed and utilize new lock screw with adhesive patch, P/N 14056196, and torque to 25 ft. lbs.

OR

Wipe previously used lock screw and threaded area of differential case of any excess lubricant. Apply Loctite Wick N Lock Adhesive (Loctite P/N 29014) to threaded area of screw, reinstall and torque to 25 ft. lbs. NO ATTEMPT should be made to utilize any other adhesive other than that which is specified above due to temperature considerations.

NOTICE: In both procedures noted above, vehicle must remain stationary for at least two 92) hours following servicing involving lock screw removal to insure curing of adhesive on screw threads. However, vehicle can be moved from service area to an on-site parking area if such driving is moderate and performed immediately after completion of axle servicing.
