OUTPUT SHAFT SPEEDO GEAR CLIP HOLE LOCATION 700R4

BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER, 1982, SOME 700-R4 TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFTS WILL BE MANUFACTURED WITH TWO (2) SPEEDO CLIP HOLES. TO PROPERLY INSTALL A SPEEDO GEAR ON THESE SHAFTS, THE CLIP HOLES MUST BE REFERENCED RELATIVE TO THE YOKE SPLINE END OF THE SHAFT AS FOLLOWS: CORVETTE: USE THE HOLE NEAREST THE END OF THE SHAFT. ALL OTHERS: USE THE HOLE FARTHEST FROM THE END OF THE SHAFT.
