DOOR GLASS
To reduce door glass water and air leaks on the 1988 C/K model, a new door glass and run channel seal has been deveolped. The upper rear corner of the new glass is square shaped, while the old style is more rounded (Figure 1). When installing a new door glass, a new run channel seal and window retainer ("blow-out-clip") must be installed. A new door glass with the old channel seal, or vice-versa, will not work.
1. Section 10A1-14 of the 1988 C/K Service Manual identifies the procedures for door glass and run channel seal replacement.
1. Remove run channel seal. 2. Using a 1/8" drill bit, drill the heads of the two rivets.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
