PARKING BRAKE RELEASE EFFORT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988 C/K TRUCKS ------------------

A revised parking brake release cable assembly was recently introduced in the 1988 C/K truck. This new cable is self lubricating which reduces the effort required to release the parking brake. On vehicles where customers have commented about the parking brake release cable effort, the new assembly may be installed, part number 15567922.

The new parking brake cable was incorporated into production effective with the following VIN breakpoints.

Pontiac East - GMC JE5016317814 Chev JE151905

Fort Wayne - GMC JZ524061 Chev JZ181605

Oshawa - GMC J1540115 Chev J1206554
