REPLACEMENT ENGINES (USE 4 BOLT MAIN ASSEMBLY P/N)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988 AND PRIOR C/K, R/V, AND P TRUCK MODELS WITH THE 7.4L ENGINE

The 1988 7.4L engine has incorporated some changes to include a new design piston and a 4 bolt main crankshaft. For 1988 models or prior model years, on vehicles which are subject to heavy duty applications (such as motorhome chassis) it is recommended the 4 bolt design engine be used when a replacement engine is required. The 1988 7.4L partial engine assembly is completely interchangeable with the 7.4L engines for previous model years.
