PAINT INFORMATION CHANGE

ALL 1989 CANADIAN PRODUCED C/K TRUCKS AND G-VANS

Vehicle Affected: All 1989 Canadian Produced C/K Trucks and G-Vans

In order to meet the General Motors of Canada Ltd., Paint Systems goal of lead free color coats for the 1989 model year and future years, special paint codes 9V2 - Orange and 9V4 - Yellow have under gone a formulation change. This will affect Candian build C/K Truck and G-Vans built in Oshawa and Scarborough, Plant codes 1 and 4 respectively. This change may affect color matching accuracy in the field if the proper formulation is not used. It should be noted that U.S. built vehicles will still use tbe leaded paint formulation. The following identifies the V.I.N. breakpoints when the new paint formulation went into effect.
