CONDITION:

SOME 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD TRANSMISSIONS MAY EXPERIENCE LOSS OF THIRD, DIRECT CLUTCH DISTRESS AND/OR SLIPS IN REVERSE.

CAUSE:

THIS CAN BE CAUSED BY THE DIRECT CLUTCH DISHED PLATE DAMAGE OR CRACKING.

CORRECTION:

A NEW DIRECT CLUTCH DISHED PLATE (609) WAS RELEASED WITH A NEW MATERIAL THAT INCREASES THE DURABILITY.

DATE OF PRODUCTION: (FIGURE 1)

STARTING OCTOBER 1, 1991 (JULIAN DATE 274) ALL 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD MODELS WERE BUILT WITH THE NEW DIRECT CLUTCH DISHED PLATE.
