CONCLUSION OF NV4500 EXCHANGE PROGRAM & TRANS. INFORMATION

SUBJECT: CONCLUSION OF NV4500 EXCHANGE PROGRAM (INFORMATIONAL)

MODELS: 1991 -1992 C/K AND P3 WITH NV4500 TRANSMISSION (RPO MT8)

The exchange program currently in effect for 1991-1992 C/K and P model vehicles equipped with the NV4500 manual transmission (RPO MT8) is scheduled to end December 1, 1991. After this date, dealerships will assume required service of the transmission.

The following is a list of service information pertaining to the NV4500:

1. General Motors Service Training: NV4500 5-Speed Manual Transmission - Course number 17003.13 (1 day class). This High Priority Required Training course is available at your local GM training center and selected remote training sites.

2. Essential Service Tools: All essential tools were shipped from Kent-Moore in late October 1991.

3. Service Parts: All service parts are available through GMSPO.

4. Labor Time Guide: Attached is a copy of the Labor Time Guide for the NV4500 transmission.

5. Service Manuals: On-vehicle service information is available in the appropriate 1992 Service Manual. Transmission overhaul information is available in the 1992 Light Duty Truck Unit Repair Manual.
