When ordering Service replacement 6.5L diesel injection pumps for 1994 model trucks, it is imperative that the PCM Calibration (PROM ID) be cross-referenced when ordering the correct service replacement diesel injection pump.

In the 1994 model year, there were two fuel injection pumps available. Depending on the model/calibration, the vehicle could have either a low flow or high flow injection pump.

If a high flow pump is installed in the place of a low flow pump (or vice versa) there will be engine driveability concerns induced.

If an injection pump mismatch has occurred, the injection pump fuel rate is the best way to verify the concern. Normal injection pump fuel rates are between 10 and 13 m/m at idle. If a very low or very high fuel rate reading is found, there may be a pump/PROM mis-match.

The PROM ID must be obtained from the subject vehicle using a TECH I® or TECH 2® scan tool and then cross referencing to the listed PROM ID's.

Listed below are the Broadcast / PROM ID codes that were designed to be used with the high flow injection pumps (17800076). If the vehicle's Broadcast / PROM ID codes are not listed in the chart below, the vehicle would use the low flow diesel injection pump.

The scan ID's listed below are listed from left to right depending on the date of the vehicle build. PROM's farthest to the right are the most updated or newest for RPO L65- VIN Code F application. Any of them will work with the high flow pump.
