THE REVISED "VEHICLES INVOLVED" SECTION SHOWS THE NEW VIN BREAKPOINT FOR G VANS. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
DEFECT INVOLVED AND CORRECTION
GENERAL MOTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN CERTAIN 1994 C/K SIERRA MODELS, C/K SUBURBANS, C/K YUKONS, C3500HD MODELS, G RALLY VANS, G VANDURA VANS, AND G MAGNAVANS. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH A BRAKE PEDAL PUSHROD RETAINER MISSING, MISPOSITIONED OR NOT PROPERLY SEATED. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUSHROD TO DISCONNECT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF BRAKE OPERATION AND A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. TO PREVENT THIS CONDITION FROM OCCURRING, DEALERS ARE TO INSPECT ALL VEHICLES TO ASSURE THE BRAKE PEDAL RETAINER IS SECURE AND FULLY SEATED IN THE GROOVE AND CAN BE ROTATED A FULL 360 DEGREES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. ANY VEHICLES FOUND WITH MISSING OR MISPOSITIONED RETAINERS WILL REQUIRE A NEW RETAINER TO BE INSTALLED. IF THERE ARE ANY VEHICLES THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED, THE DEALER MUST CONTACT THE OWNER AND ARRANGE FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED AS NEEDED.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
