The EBCM microprocessor initializes a self-test when the ignition is turned ON to verify that the EBCM microprocessor's internal circuitry is functioning correctly.
The ignition is ON.
The EBCM microprocessor detects an internal malfunction.

• | The ABS and DRP are disabled for the remainder of the ignition cycle. |
DTC C0271 and DTC C0272 cannot be cleared from the EBCM memory. The EBCM must be replaced if either of these DTCs is set.
Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTC.
Replace the EBCM if DTC C0273 or DTC C0284 continues to set intermittently.
