Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 296448  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement in Engine Controls - 5.0, 5.7L.
  2. Remove the backing plate nuts.
  3. Remove the left and right backing plates.
  4. Remove the rivets.
  5. Remove the left cover support bracket.

  7. Remove the right cover support bracket.

  8. Object Number: 296458  Size: SH
  9. Remove the center cover support bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 296458  Size: SH
  1. Install the center support bracket.

  2. Object Number: 296455  Size: SH
  3. Install the right support bracket.

  4. Object Number: 296448  Size: SH
  5. Install the left support bracket.
  6. Install the left and right backing plates.
  7. Install rivets P/N 52368546.
  8. Install the backing plate nuts.
  9. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 8 N·m (72 lb in)

  10. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement in Engine Controls - 5.0, 5.7L.
