    Object Number: 205584 Size: SH

    Important:

       • In order to ensure correct ignition base timing, install the distributor with the rotor correctly positioned in relation to the engine. Align the chalk marks in order to verify the correct position.
       • If the distributor shaft will not drop into the engine, insert a screwdriver into the hole for the distributor. Then turn the oil pump driveshaft in order to align the driveshaft with the distributor.

  1. Install the following components:
  2. • The distributor
    • The gasket

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the following components:
  4. • The hold-down clamp
    • The bolt

    Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).
