Important: Both the primary and the secondary filters must be drained of water
if the Water In Fuel lamp is illuminated.
- Turn the engine OFF.
- Apply the parking brake.
- Loosen the fuel filler cap.
- Attach a flexible tube
or hose (1/4 to 5/16 in. I D) to the water drain.
- Place a suitable container under the filter drain.
Important: Verify that the ignition is in the OFF position before opening the water
drain.
- Slowly open the water drain valve.
- Allow filter to drain until clear fuel is observed.
- Close the drain valve.
- Start the engine.
- If the Water in the Fuel lamps comes On again, repeat procedure
until all of the water is drained from the primary and secondary fuel manager/filters
(if water in the fuel lamp keeps coming ON, the fuel tank should be checked
for contamination).
- Dispose of the drained mixture in a proper manner.
