Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 256071  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the clamp holding the intake duct to the air cleaner.
  2. Loosen the clamp holding the air inlet duct to the air cleaner.
  3. Remove the bolts holding the air cleaner to the mounting brackets.
  4. Lift the air cleaner housing clear of the engine.
  5. Inspect the air inlet duct and intake duct for cracks or splits. Replace them if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner to the intake duct.
  2. Connect the air inlet duct to the air cleaner.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the mounting bolts that hold the air cleaner to the brackets.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb in).

  6. Tighten the intake duct and air inlet duct clamps.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (40 lb in).
