Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lead wires from the glow plugs (1) in cylinder 2, 4, 6, and 8.

  2. Object Number: 362187  Size: SH
  3. Remove the glow plugs from cylinders 2, 4, 6,and 8. If a glow plug is damaged during the removal procedure, refer to Damaged Glow Plug Removal Damaged Glow Plug Removal .

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the glow plugs (1) into cylinders 2, 4, 6, and 8.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plugs to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the lead wires to glow plugs.
  4. Inspect the wire routing, ensuring that the lead wires are not rubbing against the exhaust manifold or any part that may harm the wire insulation.
