Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 354598 Size: SH
  1. Remove the hexagon nut (2).
  2. Remove the washer head screw (3).
  3. Remove the dimmer switch assembly (4) from the ignition and switch mounting stud (1).
  4. Remove the dimmer and ignition switch mounting stud (1).
  5. Remove the ignition switch assembly (5) from the ignition switch actuator assembly.

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 354598 Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition switch assembly (5) to the ignition switch actuator assembly.
  2. Install the ignition and dimmer switch mounting stud (1). Tighten finger tight.

    3. Object Number: 358702 Size: SH
  3. Move the ignition switch assembly slider (2) to the far right position.
  4. Move the ignition switch assembly slider (2) detent to the left. This is the "OFF LOCK" position.
  5. Install a 3/32 inch drill bit into the hole on the ignition switch assembly (1) to limit travel.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Secure the ignition and dimmer switch mounting stud (1).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the dimmer and ignition switch mounting stud (1) to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  7. Remove the 3/32 inch drill bit.
  8. Install the dimmer switch assembly (4) onto the ignition and dimmer switch mounting stud (1).
  9. Install the end of the dimmer switch actuator rod into the dimmer switch assembly (4).
  10. Install the hexagon nut (2). Tighten finger tight.
  11. Install the washer head screw (3). Tighten finger tight.

  12. Install a 3/32 inch drill bit into the hole (1) on the dimmer switch assembly to limit travel.
  13. Position the dimmer switch assembly onto the column and push it against the dimmer switch actuator rod to remove all the lash.

    14. Object Number: 354598 Size: SH
  14. Secure the washer head screw (3).

    15. Tighten

        • Tighten the washer head screw (3) to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
        • Tighten the hexagon nut (2) to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
  15. Remove the 3/32 inch drill bit.
