Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement .
  2. Remove the front wheelhouse panel.

  4. Remove the front intake air duct (1) from the air filter housing.

  5. Object Number: 199033  Size: SH
  6. Remove the drive belts. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  7. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to Fan Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 199039  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fan drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  10. Object Number: 199031  Size: SH
  11. Remove the fan pulley bracket mounting bolts and the nuts.
  12. Remove the fan pulley bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 199031  Size: SH
  1. Install the fan pulley bracket to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fan pulley bracket bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the fan pulley bracket bolt to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).
        • Tighten the fan pulley bracket nut to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Connect the fan drive belt tensioner to the fan pulley bracket.
  6. Install the cooling fan.
  7. Install the drive belt.

  11. Install the front intake air duct (1) to the air filter housing.
  12. Install the front wheelhouse panel.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement .
