Inspect for a mechanical binding in the Radiator Shutters.

  1. Remove the Radiator Shutter Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor harness connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Are the shutters open?

Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the Radiator Shutter Control Valve harness connector.
  2. Use a DMM in order to inspect CKT 36 (LT GRN) for a short to ground.

Is a short present in CKT 36?

Go to Step 6

Repair the radiator shutters.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the Radiator Shutter Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate a short in CKT 36 (LT GRN) between the Radiator Shutter Control Valve and the Radiator Shutter Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
  2. Repair the open.
