For 1990-2009 cars only
- Block the wheels.
- Place the hand lever in the OFF position.
- Rotate the knurled knob on the hand lever counterclockwise to the end of the knurled knob's travel.
- Make the lining wear and linkage adjustments. Refer to the following procedures for the appropriate parking brake: Parking Brake Shoe Adjustment .
- Place the hand lever in the ON position.
- Rotate the knurled knob clockwise in order to adjust the lever operating effort so that a force of 32 kg (70 lbs) to 41 kg (90 lbs) must be exerted on the lever in order to move the lever over-center from the OFF position to the ON position.
- Check the parking brake operation and holding ability.
- Remove the wheel blocks.
