Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in manual transmission.
- Mark the flywheel, cover plate, and pressure plate for installation
alignment.
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch single pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts and washers
securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch double pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts and washers
securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch Eaton--Valeo pull type clutch systems, remove the bolts
and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
Installation Procedure
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch Eaton--Valeo pull type clutch systems, install the bolts
and washers securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch double pull type clutch systems, install the bolts and washers
securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- For vehicles equipped
with 14 inch single pull type clutch systems, install the bolts and washers
securing the clutch assembly to the flywheel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 54 N·m(40 lb ft).
- Install the transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in manual transmission.
- Lower the vehicle.
