Power Steering Pump Front Bracket Replacement Saginaw

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering drive belt. Refer toDrive Belt Replacement
  2. Remove the power steering pump from the accessory bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement

  3. Object Number: 372658  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts (3) from the accessory bracket (2).
  5. Remove the accessory bracket (2) from the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 372658  Size: SH
  1. Install the accessory bracket (2) to the engine block (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the accessory bracket bolts (3) to the cylinder head.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m(37 lb ft).

  5. Install the power steering pump to the accessory bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
  6. Install the drive belt. Refer toDrive Belt Replacement

Power Steering Pump Front Bracket Replacement Hobourn with LP4 or L21

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering drive belt.
  2. Remove the power steering pump pulley (5). Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 227960  Size: SH
  4. Remove the following from the front bracket:
  5. • The two bolts (4)
    • The washers
    • The adjusting bracket (8)

    Object Number: 227961  Size: LH
  6. Remove the following from the engine:
  7. • The three bolts (3, 7)
    • The three washers (8, 2)
    • The spacer (9)
    • The front bracket (6)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 227961  Size: LH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   1. Install following to the engine:
  2. • The front bracket (6)
    • The spacer (9)
    • The three washers (8, 2)
    • The three bolts (3, 7)

    Tighten

       • 

    Tighten the front bracket spacer bolt to 54 N·m (40 lb ft).

       • 

    Tighten the front bracket to engine bolt to 108 N·m (80 lb ft).

  3. Install the following to the front bracket (2):
  4. • The adjusting bracket (8)
    • The washers (3)
    • The two bolts (4)
  5. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  6. Install the power steering drive belt.
