Transmission Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement 7.4L W/ AT545 and MTs

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 201607  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil level indicator from the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Remove the bolts, the nuts, and the straps securing the oil level indicator tube to the engine and the transmission.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the oil level indicator tube to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts, the nuts, and the straps in order to secure the oil level indicator tube to the engine and the transmission.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level indicator tube bolts and nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the oil level indicator into the oil level indicator tube.

  1. Remove the oil level indicator from the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Remove the bolts, the nuts, and the straps securing the oil level indicator tube to the engine and the transmission.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the vehicle.
